The chicks are now coming up for a week old... As we had a long weekend Dorina took them home to care for them and keep them fed and watered!

As you can see the chicks are getting bigger, and they are now able to be handled! They are very friendly and are enjoying the human interaction at Fern House! 

As mentioned previously the darker coloured chicks are hens and the lighter coloured ones are cockerels. The cockerels will eventually become roosters! The chickens will be leaving us this week as they are due to be collected by living eggs. We will keep posting updates until they go, they will be missed by the children and adults.
